We have been trying to do our bit in our local community at the moment. All of our family are well and can go to work (school, for all of us – now cancelled). Not everyone is so lucky though.

Our local social website has offers of support and help for our village and local ones which is brilliant. A thought has to be given to those who are not on the internet though.

Our neighbours, 2 doors down, are over 70. I have seen the ambulance out a few times in the last year. Sometimes we are lucky enough to meet outside on a saturday. We have helped out before (given a bottle of gin to them – helps ease the aches and pains) but this week made an effort to get in touch.

We put a note through the door with our details on it and asked if they needed anything. That afternoon we had a lovely note back. I won’t post it but it made us all feel like good neighbours. They are self isolating due to their age and health. They would appreciate some little things helped out with which is perfectly fine.

As a little first step, today Alice dropped off a small bottle of vodka I bought, then gave them a ring. They said thank you very much! But Mrs Neighbour said Mr Neighbour is a recovering alcoholic so they will save it for Christmas!

Thankfully we all had a laugh about it. They have also found out that they cannot get food delivered for 3 weeks so we will help out with a bit of that too. Loo rolls tomorrow!

Please make sure you all all good neighbours at this time. Jon & Alice

  1. I’ve been browsing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. Personally, if all site
owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
