Friends of the Earth – living without plastic

For anyone that does not know, Friends of the Earth get involved at a local and national level with environmental campaigning, including:

  • Protecting your home and local environment.
  • Adopting alternative energy solutions.
  • Fighting for environmental and social justice globally.

This week they emailed me about plastic. Now, we may be doing more than our bit at home, but it is always worth reading more and how we can help.

First up, get up to speed on the worst household plastics, including those crisp packets!

Next, check out the bathroom. We have already changed to most of these and are fortunate to have a local store that sells toilet rolls and kitchen rolls in packaging that can be composted:

Then, on to the big offender, the kitchen. We still have some work to do here to reduce using sponges:
